Waddaya Mean It Snows in the Sahara

Looking for some winter sun we dutifully headed south on ye olde Beemer. Snow – UK. OK expected. It was December. Snow – Sahara. OK, not expected, first time in 40 years, a week before we found the mighty dunes. Snow on the high plains of Spain was certainly not expected or welcomed by the 1000s of people it trapped. Including us.

Brrrrrr. Minus 4 degrees celsius in Zaragoza…And I thought I’s seen it all on the high passes en route to Everest…

But must return to Morocco and the desert, preferably with a stealthier stead. My attempts to enter on the Beemer got approx 2 metres and took 30 minutes to dig out.
